Mr. P.B. Karumbaiah, Divisional Control of the KSRTC Mangalore Division, says every schedule bus is full and passengers are waiting for vehicles. He further adds of being skipped various pick-up points with overcapacity and no room remains spare for seats for the passengers who get on the way.
However, Mr. Karumbaiah assures not of leaving behind any passenger. He back passengers travel standing as these busses run very smooth, and their air condition is efficient keep them afresh even when they get off at their respective destinations.
Managing Director of the KSRTC, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, reassures that they are going in for finalising request for introducing more buses. But private operators are up in their arms and trying to halt development of any kind.
Meanwhile, seeking popularity of the Volvo bus service, private transporters have shown contempt and turned violent at various places. One of the sporadic incidents, a private bus driver heckled plying bus at Surathkal bus stand. "But it does not matter as our engines are capable of delivering a top speed of 120 km per hour and no other bus on the road is as powerful as this, we can catch up with any bus say the crew.
Still, KSRTC is stood to their guns and displaying courage to smooth running. Yet concerns are being raised by a handful of private bus operators who are carrying a couple of goons in their vehicle in prospect of harming passengers.
At the end of the day the private bus mafia has no way but to fall in line, cut down their violent ways of competition, behave well with the passengers and provide safe and good services to the people.
