We know that people leave the bosses, not the organization", YES this correct. If we ask to anyone and we will get a similar answer, as nobody could find anything wrong with the organization, it gives people the opportunity to work with, learn new skills, helps to grow, pay well and let a person to be able to work with any organization in the world. It is the bosses and their relationhip with employee's makes any employee to leave an organization.
We can watch the latest advertisement of "Naukri" a job portal, How an employer thinks about his Boss(Hari Sadu). Yes this is the real picture of what the employee thinks about his employer. And it is the true that some bosses remain as him. Why do these bosses behave indifferent? Or we picture them as a negative character?
Yes, some bosses have to alter their attitude. Attitude matter my dear boss. Everyone has advised impress your boss, butter them, praise them, But no one has express that bosses have to change their way of working style so they become more effective and loving boss. So let me take this as an opportunity and request all bosses of every organization to alter few styles in their approach towards theie employee. So employees can grow along with the organization.
All Employee are an Asset: Every boss should understand that employee's are an asset to the organization. Just like you, your employers are also a human being and they have own emotions, aspirations, fears, pain, losses, insecurity, issues and problems. So please respect their feelings.
Dont just ignore them. They only expect smypathy and empathy in their tough times as you expect.
Bosses Can Be Humble and polite: Humbleness and politeness are good qualities that every employee of any organization would like to see in his boss. Why losing patience for small and minute reasons. Even by being humble and polite we can be a good in solving problems.
No one is a born boss: So you may be a boss now, But once you were an employee of an organization. We respect your hard work and success to become a boss. But understand that you were also once in his shoe, before hurting an employee by your super power called authority.
You lose productivity: When you be so harsh to your employees, Then you become most horrible creature. You create insecure feeling to an employee. With the power that you have gained you become arrogant. They begin to think that they you are the best manipulators and can do anything. In short they hate you at one point of time.
When you Reprimand, You should Even praise: Every boss do not hesitate to reprimand your employees but you hesitate to praise them. You have created to employees that " When I am Right By Boss Never Remembers. When, I am Wrong By Boss Never forget.
Trust your Employee: If you do not trust your employees then who is going to. If employees are not trusted by the boss, The growth of the organization will suffer. Trust in an employee is a best motivation for an employee. You do not need too much spend for their training. Trust brings several changes to any organization.
Be a coach and mentor: Every employee wants his boss to be friendly and mentor him in his work. Bosses have the right to critic, but the way they express becomes important. Bosses should not be as a ring master. The employees have started expecting to be more friendly with boss. Few bosses may comment that, If they be friendly they cant extract productivity from employees. It's not true, Employees nowadays know their responsibility.
These are my suggestions about how a boss can be, but it is not possible to have all the above qualities in a boss, if these all qualities are available, then the boss is from heaven. All employee does not love to hate bosses, If bosses are good mentor. Every organization have started to become, Eco friendly, SEO Friendly, User friendly, Customer friendly. Why cannot organizations be Employee Friendly and EGO friendly with your own employees.
