subject: Seo Uk So You Can Increase Your Business [print this page]

The one thing we can tell you about SEO UK writing companies: You're never going to get high quality SEO work without native English speaking writers who are qualified and can deliver great content on time.

That said, how do you GET a great writer? Well... Read on...

Word Rates

Ideally, you shouldn't be paying more than a few cents a word, though for certain projects such as academics and eBooks, you might be spending just a bit more, and that's not unreasonable. If you're paying a penny a word, you have to understand that you're probably sacrificing quality just to save a couple bucks. Good writers can afford to charge just a bit more because they know they're good. Lousy writers can't afford to charge more than a penny a word.

Writing Samples

You absolutely need to look at some samples. Make sure their actual writing is up to snuff, that it reads well, that it provides good, readable content. Put it through copyscape and make sure it's not plagiarized, etc. Just check all your angles when looking at samples, and most importantly: If you find it boring or hard to read, your readers will, too. You're putting your company's name on this stuff, so don't risk your reputation.

Email Correspondence

If the person you're exchanging emails with can't even write a coherent email, then why would they be able to manage a good SEO company? They should be polite and courteous, well spoken, clear, and able to give you definitive answers to each and every one of your questions. If it seems like they're dodging you, if they ask for too much money up front, be wary.

References

Always look for references. Look for recommendations to see which dogs are the top of the food chain. While you're at it, feel free to remember the places you got those recommendations so that you can give the writers a positive (or negative) review based on your experiences working with them.

Project Type

Most companies will do SEO articles, not everyone will do blogs, ghost writing, marketing or eBooks. Find a company that specializes in exactly what you want done.

Rewrites

You might not be one hundred percent satisfied with the first pass. Most companies will offer one or two rewrites. A company that doesn't offer any sort of rewrites at all is one you want to stay away from. It's a given that the writer isn't psychic and might not be able to know exactly what you're going for, and it's not uncommon that you have to bang the kinks out a bit here and there, so look for a company that takes enough pride in their work that they'll be willing to have another go at it if you're not completely satisfied.

Pay

Half up front, half at the end, or, pay in thirds. These are the only real payment plans you can trust with most SEO companies. A business that wants it all up front... Well, you're taking something of a risk if it's a larger project.
