Theres no question that 2009 was a difficult year for some. However, despite these obstacles many people look back on 2009 as a blessing. They thought of it as a year of good fortune, happiness and overwhelming success. Then again, these are the same people that are never deterred by adversity. They view every year as better than the last. They are not just optimistic but are committed to having a financially, professionally and personally successful year. These are people who rise up to the occasion and who firmly resolve to complete every one of their New Years resolutions. These people are called the winners in our society...the greats, the millionaires, the movers and shakers. You can be one of these people. You can be a leader. You can take charge of your life. You can take stock of your life and charge forward for the upcoming year. What does it take for an ordinary person to become a great leader? Sometimes its all a matter of ambition and action. Lets face ita lot of people have talent. There are many no-names existing among us that would make fantastic world leaders. There are talented artists who continue to go unrecognized. Sometimes all that is missing in these cases is a strong drive to reach out. Without drive, without ambition, you cannot progress to anything beyond what you are now. For the upcoming New Year why not set a goal to take charge of your life? Determine what you want to accomplish and then take stock of yourself. Determine if these changes are within your capacity. Give yourself some credit, do not back down fearing that you have limited abilities. There are probably numerous people you know that would vouch for your skills and work ethic. Once you are determined to take charge of your life, set goals for yourself. Determine where you will be in 2010 at the first quarter, the second, the halfway point, the third quarter and the end of the year. Yes, obstacles will always be there to hinder your quest for growth. We are the ones that identify our obstacles. So, whenever we back down because of perceived obstacles, we are defeating ourselves.
