subject: 5 Things To Do In Leeds [print this page]

If you're planning on visiting Leeds for a day or night then there's plenty of interesting things to do all year round. Here's a list of some famous activities for the family, group, couple or individual.

1. Royal Armouries - The Royal Armouries is a state of the art museum on the bank of the river Aire that contains a great deal of the treasure, weaponry and relics from the glory days of the British empire. Everything in the museum came from the Tower Of London originally when it was cleaned out. As a consequence Leeds now has many national treasures on display to the community.

2. Victoria Arcade - In fact Leeds has lots of arcades coming from the main shopping street Briggate, however it is Victoria Arcade which is the grandest and most famed! At first a small knot of streets, it is now covered and consists of the pick of Leeds' upmarket shops and stores as well as Harvey Nichols.

3. The Dry Dock - A unique bar which the students just love to expend the whole day and night in! The Dry Dock is a ship which has been moored and positioned outside the entrance to Leeds Metropolitan University. So you could have a drink in a ship! Extremely rare!

4. Roundhay Park - The illustrious Roundhay Park is enormous and consists of lakes, cycle tracks, live performance venue and Tropical World! This huge park is roughly three miles beyond the hustle and bustle of the city centre and well worth a look if you're after something more stress-free.

5. Headingley - Headingley is probably the most tightly populated student area in the nation, housing a large share of students from Leeds' 2 universities. Headingley is well-known for its night life containing bars such as The Arc, The Sky Rack, Trio and The Headingley Taps.
