subject: Trying To Make Your Car Run On Water For Conservation Tomorrow [print this page]

There are lots of ways to restructure your life to make it more suitable for the environment. You can find ways to save water, energy, and money all at the same time. As we go further into our current era there are many opportunities to develop technology. At some point you could even make your car run on water.

There are so many advances coming our way that it is impossible to really comprehend it all. In some regions we are already seeing some homes fully functional and operating on self-contained solar systems. Thanks to carbon offsets there are many families that are able to say they are carbon neutral. The goal is that as time continues onward we see these fringe trends become very mainstream.

Reintroducing mass transit within our society is very important. An example of this is a high speed rail system that would run from coast to coast. These cost less money to operate than airlines, and they also produce far less pollution than airplanes. The world of business travel could be changed forever.

When purchasing new appliances for your home can prove to be an opportunity to save energy. Energy efficient washers, dryers, and dishwashers have been available for years now. With each new model that comes out they become more and more efficient. As the technology continues to progress these appliances become better. Some even now claim that they will pay for themselves within one year in your water savings.

Household renovations can give you yet another opportunity to make your home more efficient. Bathrooms, for example, are a room where lots of energy is used. There is heat, electricity, and water. There are ways for you to be able to reduce the amount of energy consumption within that room. Look into low-pressure shower heads and low flow toilets. You would be surprised at what is available to you.

Though an incredibly low-tech concept, there are some older notions for saving energy that have stood the test of time. These are small things like winterizing your home. By using an additional layer of insulation you will not so often feel the need to nudge the thermostat up on those chilly winter nights. By ensuring that there are not gaps or cracks for heat to escape from you save energy and money all at the same time.

On to other low-tech devices, many very simple machines are enjoying a new stint in the spotlight. One example is the reel mower. This is a wonderful lawn mower with no motor at all. No exhaust to contribute to emissions makes it very appealing for those that want to reduce their contribution to emissions as much as possible. Not having to spend anything on gas makes it appealing to those that want to save money.

Everyday we manage to take another step closer to really cleaning up the environment. Keep thinking creatively because that is how it all gets started. Before you know it you may make your car run on water. Keep looking for new ways to conserve more energy because every little bit of it counts.
