subject: Is Rocket Language Spanish Any Good? [print this page] Author: C Rogers Author: C Rogers
The Rocket Language Courses have sold over 300,000 products over the years and is one of the world's biggest leaders in downloadable language software and programs. Rocket Spanish is one of several language programs offered at Rocket Languages and continues to be a best seller among other language learning programs. If there are many people buying a program does it mean it works? Can Rocket Spanish live up to the claims of teaching you Spanish like at rocket speeds?
As a person who has tried other language learning software such as Rosetta Stone or Fluenz, I can honestly offer a comparison of the Rocket Language Spanish program with other courses that claim to teach fast Spanish.
Here is what I've found. As a whole, the Rocket Spanish course is very comprehensive. It's filled with information that pertains to speaking Spanish in Mexico or Latin America if that's your objective. If you are looking for a course that teaches formal Spanish or Spanish as it's spoken in Spain than this program isn't for you. It is apparent that the focus of Rocket Spanish is to teach you to be conversant with friends and family, but they do make a distinction that you will need to change the verbiage when speaking with strangers.
There is audio lessons that are interactive. It will have you talking in Spanish very quickly because that format is very conversational and has you repeating and responding to a conversation. The audio lessons offer many chances for repetition and practice. The best part of the audio lessons are the fact they come on mp3 formats so you can put them on your ipod or mp3 player and play them anywhere. This is something that isn't available in other programs as I have found out. There is also written content to supplement the interactive lessons that help you learn how the language is written and helpful hints along the way that help you understand what really matters when speaking Spanish in the real world. In my opinion, I enjoy the fact that this program is plain practical. The main focus of the course is showing you confidently how to speak Spanish and understand it.
Lastly, there is a software component to the course that teaches verbs and helps you build your vocabulary quickly and easily by listening and viewing pictures. Every learner will benefit from all the different types of learning components there are in this course. The only problem in my opinion is how Rocket Spanish is organized and laid out. For instance, the audio is broken down into small chunks and you either need to find the written portion that goes with the audio or just listen to the audio by itself. I suppose some might think of this as flexibility built into the program because you can print out exercises or just listen to audio or play games. You have the choice on how you wish to learn the material and how fast you want to learn it. Personally, I like something that seems to flow a little more. With Rocket language Spanish you have many opportunities to learn Spanish at your own pace and I'm sure that for most people this makes sense.
If cost is a factor than take a look at Rocket Spanish. You will save a ton of money on shipping and packaging if you purchase the download version of the course. It costs less than other programs which give it quite the edge in Spanish learning programs out there. Not to mention you can start the program immediately versus waiting around for it to arrive in the mail. Based on all that you receive in this program it's an excellent value for the money.About the Author:
