subject: Do You Need Internet Marketing Help? [print this page] Do you need help with internet marketing?
Internet marketing can be very overwhelming to someone just starting out. It's hard to decide where to focus your efforts, what's going to work, what to spend your money on and how much you need to do to see results.
Most people start out by posting the link to their website on social networks and to friends. I remember starting out that way and being shocked when I made no sales - haha!
To really have an impact online you need to consider a few things -
It's not just a numbers game. If you put your link on 100 non-relevant websites you are unlikely to get any quality leads from your efforts. Put your link on just 10 relevant websites and you are much more likely to get some visitors - ones that are actually interested in what you are offering.
So what makes a website relevant?
Any website or web page that is on the same subject (or similar) as your blog will help you in two ways if you post a link on it -
1. People searching the internet for your subject will be more likely to click through to your blog to find out more.
2. Google and other search engines will see your website as more relevant for that subject, and so you will appear higher in search rankings if you have many links back to your website
How do you get your link on relevant websites?
The easiest way to do this is by creating your own content and using your target keywords in the title and throughout the text. This is called content marketing, article marketing and video marketing.
My favourite method of marketing on the internet is with video. Video marketing brings you to your prospects and builds trust far faster than text alone can do. By submitting your videos to websites like youtube and Facebook you will increase your website popularity a little, but to really see results you need to follow a strategy that will get your videos (along with the link back to your website) to HUNDREDS of websites per week.
