This all started with me when I used to work on my own car and change my own oil. One cold morning I was under my car and bent my arm in the wrong direction to grab my wrench and felt the most intense stinging sensation I ever felt. I jumped out from under my car and started rubbing my shoulder but it didnt seem to get any better. I even started to apply icy hot and even a cold ice pack and nothing would take the pain away.
I started to get worried that maybe I pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle so I went to my family doctor. He did a checkup and did an xray and everything was fine. I was prescribed pain pills and it took away the pain quite well until the day I ran out. That was three weeks later and I still had the same amount of pain as I did the day it happened.
My aunt told me to visit a physical therapist and I figured I might as well since my doctor couldnt do anything. My first visit took a few hours and the pain was actually not as bad. But I had to have a few sessions and the money really started to add up. The pain after some time thankfully went away. But it ended up costing me over 1200.00 and tons of hours I could have spent doing something else.
The sad thing is that I was out shoveling snow the next winter and I slipped on a patch of ice and landed on the very same shoulder. The evil pain returned and I remembered that huge bill I had to pay out last time this happened. I told my friend about it and he laughed at I forked over soo much money when I could have dont it myself. I am not a licensed physical therapist and that had my confused.
