Reason 1: My first reason to get a Blackberry was simple and clear. I need to get a mobile that comes from the 21 century and get ride of my 19th Century Mobile. Won't mention any names to remain ethical.
Reason 2:
The other very valid reason is so that I can keep up to date with my e-mails in a very simple and quick manner. I must be honest that the one and only mobile I had which pushed me a step closer to the 20th century, well I managed to mess the software beyond hope. The same way I did my laptops, PC's and home built severs.
Brief: You may have guessed by now. I'm an I.T. guy that has to play around with anything and everything that allows you to. At this point I decided that my next mobile / laptop has to be the kind that I can't mess around with much, HOPEFULLY not mess it up! Well I can't say that about my Mac Book. It took the better of me and I had to play around with it. Yes you guessed it. At I messed it up!
Reason 3: So my next mobile. Well after a couple of months balancing it out between an iPhone or Blackberry. I decided to go for a Blackberry. Reason being, not that you can mess it up but, it's much harder. Other reason the Apps are very easy to install, not that easy to mess up.
Reason 4: Seeing that at the time there was a great network provider battle going on. The only provider I would there go with did not offer iPhone support and had Blackberry so that in part limited my choice. Also the contract choices one could choose from.
Reason 5: Count the above four reasons that lead to this choice. All in all the turned out to be for me the simplest, quickest and cost effective choice for me. Looking at the applications I'd say that the Blackberry has all the applications I need. The Calendar has left a very good impression on me. Very easy to use standard features, full and found to meet all my requirements.
The E-Mail tool, really easy to use, manage my GMail account. Has all the features to be able to synchronies with my GMail features. Cant complain at all about the Music feature. very simplistic. I can find anything bad to say abut the browsers at all. virtually fool proof. The GPS feature I've used and found to be really good. Does require data services in order to synchronies your initial position. The Alarm is good. Though I must say that I miss my day-by-day scheduling for Alarms. Limited to weekdays, on or off. Camera quality is good in daylight. 2.MegaPixel camera pretty descent. Although it lacks a flash but, lets face it if you want a good photo the use a proper digital camera. Games yes, OK can't complain either. Lets face the Blackberry is a phone not a camera neither a gaming console.
It is a good means of communication. This is truly what hit it for me. Blackberry Messenger. Wicked! Can't stop using it. In my busy day-to-day lifestyle. I find keeping in touch with friends really difficult. Thanks to the Blackberry Messenger, GMail Talk, Yahoo and MSN Messenger I can keep in touch with my friends at anytime from anywhere. Then there is the Facebook application. Well there's not much I can say about this application. Just like my GMail it provides all the features to stay in touch with your facebook friends, upload photos and post comments just like on the web.
Nothing left to say just that I can't really find any reason why I should replace my Blackberry with any other competing Smartphone.
