subject: Stop Sweaty Armpits Naturally [print this page]

If you would like to stop sweaty armpits, you'd probably be prepared to try anything to see if it will help your problem. And to be confident you're not doing more harm than good, you might want to find a completely natural cure. These are some suggested solutions.

Try to shower every morning at least, and wear loose-fitting clothes that are made of natural fibres. Clothes that are white or black are usually best for hiding underarm sweat. As an alternative to just using antiperspirant in the morning, re-apply during the day to maintain its effect. High-strength versions are available if applying several times a day doesn't seem to work. Most strong antiperspirants have higher percentages of Aluminium Chloride to be effective, but natural alternatives are available, without the Aluminium Chloride, that can work just as well.

What's in your diet can also be a cause of excessive underarm sweating. If like spicy foods, caffeine and even chocolate, you might want to try cutting down on these to see if it helps stop sweaty armpits. There are foods that have been thought to help with excessive sweating, and you could look to include more of these in your diet. Excessive sweating might be linked to the level of toxins and waste in your body, so any foods that work to flush those out might help. The fibre and vitamins found in fruit, vegetables and whole-grain foods will help your body get rid of waste.

Enjoying a better diet could not only help stop sweaty armpits, but it should make you feel healthier. If you're a nervous sweater, looking and feeling better should improve your confidence, and reduce your anxious sweating. If you do sweat because of nerves, foods that have a calming effect, like Chamomile tea, could also have a positive impact on your underarm sweating.

If you are prepared to try some more concocted natural remedies, there have been some that have been claimed to help improve excessive armpit sweating. If you mix a couple of teaspoons of raw organic honey with a couple of teaspoons of non-acidic apple cider vinegar and try drinking this three times a day on an empty stomach, this could help. Adding some sage leaves to 2 cups of water, boiling it up and drinking it in the morning, and again later in the day, has been shown to help. Also, you could try adding sage to the other foods you eat.

Certain forms of exercise have been thought to help stop excessive sweating. If you sweat a lot because of nerves, you might want to try yoga to help you relax. We've already talked about how excessive sweating can be linked to toxins in the body. More physical exercises has been shown to help flush toxins from the body, helping to reduce excessive sweating (as well as helping to manage your weight, which could also help your sweaty armpit problem). Acupuncture has also been shown to help excessive sweating sufferers, but it just depends how you feel about a treatment that involves lots of needles!

Hopefully, some of these suggestions will be ideas you haven't tried before and will help you find a natural solution that works. There are other more drastic solutions such as electrolysis, Botox and surgery, but it might be worth trying to find a natural cure that works for you first, before you have to consider these other options.
