The supporting evidence plays a main role in the US Citizenship application process. If the required evidence is not provided, the application process will be delayed or the application might get rejected. It is the duty of the applicant to provide a copy of all the required evidence . The basic supporting documents would be a photocopy of the Permanent Resident Card, birth certificate, a copy of a document on name change (if any), marriage certificate (if applying based on marriage) and two identical, color, passport-style photographs. Later at interview they will be required to submit the originals for reference.
