subject: Lifestyle: A guide to credit card selection [print this page]

Another objection to using lifestyle as a guide to these card selection is if you live a lifestyle that you cannot afford. Not that it's bad to treat yourself and live like a millionaire from time to time, but you can't be a millionaire for a day and be a pauper burdened with debt for the rest of your life. The important thing here is to be honest about what you can afford and live accordingly. No one's preventing you from spending left and right, provided that you can pay for it. If that is the current lifestyle that you have, then using your lifestyle to dictate your card selection is a good idea.
