The Federal Pell Grant is an excellent source of educational financing for students. There are many ways that students can get money for college, university or school but the Pell Grant is one of the best. It is a needs-based financial aid program that is run by the US government. Needs-based means that people who qualify for the grant must meet to specific criteria. In the case of this grant the criteria is one of low income status. Before any grant money is paid, you will be required to complete a FAFSA form which certifies that you are going to be using the Federal Pell Grant solely for educational purposes. You will also be required to certify that you are not in default of any other Federal student loans or grants. Generally though, to meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility, the undergraduate student must be enrolled in an approved course, and must be working towards their first bachelor's degree or professional certificate. The amount you will get depends on your circumstances. It would very much depend on you own financial needs, the amount the college is going to charge you and whether you will be going to study full time or part time and also how many years you will be studying for. The maximum amount at the moment is $5350 for the academic year of 2010. This can change every year as it depends on programme funding, so be sure to check it up. Part-time students are also able to apply for a Pell Grant. Even students who are enrolled for less than part-time should still apply, as they will still be eligible to receive some money. The amount will be determined by their own individual circumstances. It is important to realize though, that you are not able to receive Pell Grant money from more than one college at a time. **URGENT** Just Released. Enter to Win a scholarship.
