subject: Conversion Of Images From Raster To Vector [print this page]

Raster to vector conversion means to convert raster images to vector images. But whats important is to know, what exactly is raster and vector, and why this conversion is so much sought after.

Images are of two types Raster and Vector. Normally, for any small sized image it doesnt make much difference if the type is raster but if same image is enlarged without converting from raster to vector it will give out an unclear picture. The reason behind this is, with raster images are made up of dots which when enlarged gets mixed up. Whereas with vector images are made of lines, arcs etc and hence when it is enlarged these doesnt mix up; they just increase in size keeping the picture as it is.

For non-professional use, it is normally not considered much however, if it is for professional use such conversion is a must. Now to get a good conversion you get software with which you can do it on your own. But research has proved that such software may not give excellent results for every image. Moreover, if the number of Images for conversion is high it can be time consuming also.

It therefore makes sense to entrust the conversion job to an experienced and cost effective Company. It will ensure the quality, save time and give professional results.

There may be free or paid softwares in the market to convert raster to vector; However, vector conversion is a time consuming task and can take experts hours to finish; especially for large sized images.
