subject: Dish Network The Better Choice For The Money Smart Sports Fan [print this page] Dish Network does not offer the NFL Sunday Ticket Why? It is a good idea for a sports bar but not for your home. How many games do you really watch each week, and unless you have 16 televisions in your home each with its own receiver your not going to benefit from it anyway. In order to keep you up to date with all the NFL action, Dish Network offers the NFL Redzone channel broad cast on channel 155, which will switch through all the games as a team enters the red zone.
For those of you who may not be familiar with the red zone it is the scoring zone between the 20-yard line and the goal line. You will be able to watch all the scoring drive from around the league as they happen, for a cheaper price which is part of a sports package for $5.99 per month. The NFL Sunday Ticket price is $299.95.If you were to have the NFL Sunday Ticket, and did want to see all the games youre are paying for, you will need 16 receivers. 15 of which will cost you $5.00 per month for a lease fee, which means just in receivers for your home you will be paying $75.00.
That does not include the programming. So add that $75.00 to your programming package and your going to be well over $100.00. Is it worth it? I am an avid sports fan and love to watch the games, but really I only follow my team and their division rivals. I get to see all of the scoring that happens within the division, and all around the league with Dish Network and the NFL Red Zone Channel. I dont even have to spend money for extra receivers.
So if your looking to get Satellite Television service and are leaning towards one for the NFL Sunday Ticket, just to say you have it well then good for you Rockefeller, in todays economy I will go with Dish Network and the NFL Red Zone Channel get all the same benefits of seeing all the scoring drives from around the league with out having to have more then one television or receiver. I will also save some money while I do it, because I can use one receiver weather it is HD , HD DVR, or Standard to run two TVs on different channels.
