subject: Promotional Items For Generating Funds For Charity [print this page]

Many times when you hear about promotional products what you think of is actually tradeshow giveaways. This is actually just one of the ways that businesses can use promotional products to help stimulate new business. Promotional products can also be used as in house gifts to those who make a purchase or those loyal customers who have been part of that business for a long time. And while you may just think of logo imprinted items as a way to build a large business these items have also proven themselves very successful when used by charitable organizations as well.

Trying to raise money for charity can be a difficult job, certainly it is harder during a down turn in the economy when people are keeping a hold on their wallets. To persuade someone to donate becomes easier if they recieve a free giveaway in exchange for the money, so you will find promotional items very useful for fund raisers.

Giving a promotional product as a gift in trade for cash donations may increase the fund raising due to the fact they may give more to achieve a better gift. In addition, using the promotional products as marketing for the charity will help spread the word about the charity and it's cause throughout the local area.

And some organizations take an even more unique approach to using promotional products in their fund raising attempts. Many charities send free promotional items to those that they want to donate to their charity and by doing so make those individuals feel almost obligated to send something in exchange for the free item that they have received. Promotional address labels and calendars are items that are often used by charities to help get more people involved in their cause.

These items with the logo and name of the charity imprinted on them can be useful in stimulating new donations, increasing the individual donation, and increasing peoples awareness of the cause needing the donations. These are only a few good reasons for charities to use the promotional merchandise to help with their fund raising.
