You must select article title that is unique and not available on internet any where. I mean, suppose I have selected "Track your article marketing with Google Alert" title for this article, now I should check this title by search in Google with double quote as it is (exact phrase search). If I see "No result found", I will take this title other wise I will slightly change the title and find again. So in short, use the title, which has "no result found" result for exact phrase search in Google.
Go to Google.com/alerts and create alert with the title in double quote as soon as you publish the article on your site. Oh! so simple, you are done, now you will start receiving Google's notification when ever it finds your title some where on internet.
