Living a healthy lifestyle isnt too hardLiving a healthy lifestyle isnt too hard. It takes some extra time out of your day, and it can be hard work forming some new habits. If you can break the old ones to start anew, you will be in good shape. After that, its just a matter of keeping these good habits around. Sure, the occasional aberration is okay, but you dont want to get out of form too often.

1. Sleep: Its important to get enough sleep. Recent studies show that getting less than 7 hours a night can cause your body to have an increased appetite, meaning that you eat more to make up for the lack of energy. This can potentially lead to unneeded weight gain.

2. Exercise: If you live a sedentary lifestyle, its extremely easy to gain weight. In fact, new studies show that even if you exercise regularly but youre seated for more than 6 hours daily, the benefits of all that exercise can be outweighed. Working out for at least 20 minutes 3 times a week is a good rule to follow. That doesnt mean that on the other days you should lounge about light activity like walking, biking, and even standing, is good for your body.

3. Diet: You are what you eat. If you go around shoveling Mickey Ds into your gob, chances are, youll be no more than a hamburger. Seriously though, its all about the fruits and veggies. You can have a cheeseburger a couple of times a week, as long as youre eating at least 3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Nuts are another staple that should get you through the week. The Mediterranean diet shows that eating like this can help you live longer, and remove plaque from your arteries.

4. Vitamins: If youre having trouble making the switch to a new diet, then easing into it with kosher supplements can help big time. Taking a multivitamin can give you more energy and allow you to consume the essential nutrients that you may be lacking in your diet.

5. Relax: This is as important as any of the above. Setting aside some time every day to enjoy a cup of tea and some dark chocolate, both rich in antioxidants, can be crucial to your well being. Red wine is another pleasure thats guilt-free most adults should have at least one serving of alcohol daily to reduce blood pressure, and more as you age. Being in the right mindset can be as difficult to achieve as reaching your ideal weight since a lot of it depends on practice and confidence. Working into a new de-stress routine of things you enjoy is a great way of improving your mental health.

With these five aspects of your life covered, youll be living healthily in no time. Healthy living is happy living, because if most of your needs are satisfied, you can more easily focus on what else is needed for happiness.
