subject: Things To Consider Diversifying Your Income [print this page]

One of the most important things you should learn with your website is that you need to diversify your income. As the old saying goes, "Do not put all your eggs in one basket!" As this rings true to most of our daily lives, but also rings true to have an online income.

Say you have most of your ads with Google AdSense. To say that accounts for 90% of the revenue of your website. Heaven forbid if Google were to cancel your account! Lose 90% of your income website, what would you do? Would you be able to recover immediately? Most people would not. I had a friend recently get her Google AdSense account terminated for reasons that are unknown to him. They said it was generating false clicks (which he was not) and that is all the information he give is not accurate. Luckily he was able to appeal the decision and get his refund into account, but not everyone is that lucky!

So if you have a website, diversify your income, not only through pay per click sponsors, but perhaps the use of direct product sponsor, a "cost per share of a sponsor, or promote other products or services and are paid a commission per sale.

It is always better to see the performance of your website. Make sure you are checking your stats to see what banners and ads are performing better and change to those who are not working so well. It is also a good idea to rotate banners every few months anyway to get "fresh blood" into place. Your Internet will become "blind slogan" after a while and learn to ignore all the ads and banners.

The diversification of revenues also includes the opening of other websites. Currently I have several websites that receives income. About four months ago, Google banned one of my websites in search engine! This is a common thing that happens among Internet marketers. Apparently my site had too many outbound links to sponsor ads and considered a link farm. "But that site when I was making about $ 1000/month. If I had all my other sites to take the reins, can you imagine the disaster that would have been?

Another way to diversify their websites has to have some of them on different servers. Hosting is very cheap in these days. If you can throw one or two of them up at $ 5.99 a month and a server to pay for one year worth of hosting, you are doing the right thing. Not only have the benefits of search engine, but if one of the servers should go down, not all sites have been reduced at a time.

So remember to diversify your income and you'll be glad when you're having a slow sales month in one of its affiliate programs, all others can only take the reins!
