Vodafone has finally inducted a very capable Windows mobile phone into it's line of exclusive handsets. Yes, the LG GM750 which is a Windows Mobile 6.5 device and released towards the end of 2009 will be exclusively available with Vodafone. This time around things look pretty good for both Vodafone and LG. This one is a quad-band GSM based unit which also includes service support for tri-band 3G network. The phone is loaded with a 3 inches TFT resistive touchscreen and runs the popular and user friendly 'S-Class' user interface. The unit appears to be quite compact and light although the looks closely resemble the previously released GM730 phone.
Being a Windows Mobile 6.5 device it includes some significant improvements over older versions in terms of usability. This edition of Windows includes "pocket" versions of Microsoft Office applications, support for Microsoft Exchange push email, an enhanced media player and a host of downloadable applications. Similar to other Windows devices this too runs on a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm. The internal memory of this handset can be expanded up to a maximum of 32GB by using microSD cards. It is also enabled with GPRS and EDGE which allows users to access internet very comfortably in the built-in WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML web browser. 3G service allows high speed access to data with the help of HSDPA which is available at the rate of 7.2Mbps.
On the multimedia front too the LG GM750 turns out to be a competent player. The media player can cope with a range of file formats for audio as well as videos. Also included is an FM radio for wholesome entertainment. The camera of the phone is a 5 mega pixel unit located at the back and comes complete with auto-focus.
The LG GM750 allows messages to be sent and received in the form of SMS, MMS, Email and Instant Messaging. Also included in the phone is Wi-Fi that allows the device to access any local area network apart from enabling it to synchronise with a PC or a laptop. Built-in are also Bluetooth and USB that allow users to share and transfer data very conveniently to compatible devices. Other notable features include secondary video-call camera, voice memo, GPS with A-GPS support and Organiser. This versatile would have only fallen short if it would not have included an efficient battery. The standard Li-Ion 1500mAh battery supports a talk time of almost 6 and hours apart from being able to keep the handset on standby for almost 450 hours.About the Author:
