subject: Benefits Of Caller Routes - Case Studies [print this page]

Caller Routing allows you to specify different routes and destinations depending on the caller ID. For example, you may specify that calls from 0161 must go to a Manchester Inbound customer service team or calls from 020 numbers must go to a London call centre. Case Study 1 HW Property UK Ltd.

HW Property UK Ltd. is an estate agent who is located in the UK. They advertise their properties nationally within UK, and they also advertise their property portfolio internationally and also on the Internet to attract

overseas buyers and investors. This necessitates them to be easily accessible from locations outside the UK. They choose an 0845 number for receiving calls. The company creates two teams to deal with the different calls that they receives. Team 1 is in charge of handling calls that originate from the UK and Team 2 is responsible for handling international calls. To make this possible, a caller route is created for all calls from numbers that start with 00-. The calls are then routed to a hunt group with for all the staff members of Team 2. all the calls that are from international locations are caught by the caller route system and routed to Team B. the national calls are not caught by the caller route, so they go to a Hunt Group that has the numbers of staff members of Team 1.

The caller experience is seamless; they do not need to be made aware of the fact that their calls are being handled by special teams. They also need not be asked which team they wish to speak to.

Case Study 2 Taxi Franchise

Ali has finally decided to set up a taxi franchise in the UK. His business plan is brilliant. He will have a common inbound number that customers can call and it will be advertised nationally. He will allow one taxi company in each area code to sign and become his franchisee. If the franchisee is located in Manchester, all calls originating from Manchester will be automatically routed to him. For other area codes, the same procedure applies. This can be made possible by creating a Caller Route for each area code.

Case Study 3 Recruitment Website David wants to set up a recruitment website. He hopes to have at least 600 registrations. He wants only the registered users to be able to get in touch with his help desk. How does he accomplish that? When the user registers on the website, he takes the contact number and creates a caller route which will route calls originating from this number to the help desk. Other calls will just hear a message that they are not registered for the service.

Caller Routes are available on all Numbertalk service plans. To learn more about 0845 numbers, 0800 numbers,
