subject: Avoid Being Labeled As A Spammer [print this page]

We all hate spammersWe all hate spammers. Spammers contribute nothing in value to the cyber world. As a result, there are laws against sending spam. Therefore as internet marketers, these laws apply to us as well. The image we carry as an internet marketer is important. Surely we wouldnt want to be labeled as spammers. This negative image can bring our business down. Lets take a look at how to avoid being labeled as a spammer.

Firstly, to be in compliance with the anti spam laws, you have to include your personal particulars at the end of the emails you sent. This includes your name, state, zip code, address, city and phone number. This leaves you exposed to your readers and therefore your reputation is at stake. Be careful with what you write in your emails. When they want to complain against you, they know who to look for.

Next, you have to include instructions that allow your readers to unsubscribe. Your readers have the right to remove themselves from your emails. The best that we can do as internet marketers would be to respect that decision. If this circumstance happened, it probably meant that we didnt something right.

Failing to do to do these two actions, you will label as a spammer!

It is important to protect ourselves from spam complaints. You can avoid complains by employing a double opt in form for your subscribers. Double opt in means that they have to click on the confirmation email sent to them before they are considered subscribers. Next, you can include a check box on the order forms. When they check the box, it means that they are giving you permission to send them emails.

Now that youve received tips on how to boost your internet marketing business, Ive an interesting story to share.

A miser sold all that he had and bought a lump of gold, which he buried in a hole in the ground by the side of an old wall and went to look at daily.

One of his workmen observed his frequent visits to the spot and decided to watch his movements. He soon discovered the secret of the hidden treasure, and digging down, came to the lump of gold, and stole it.

The Miser, on his next visit, found the hole empty and began to tear his hair and to make loud lamentations.

A neighbor, seeing him overcome with grief and learning the cause, said, "Pray do not grieve so; but go and take a stone, and place it in the hole, and fancy that the gold is still lying there. It will do you quite the same service; for when the gold was there, you had it not, as you did not make the slightest use of it."
