These decisions that nurses make will determine their responsibilities and will often add more or diminish some of the general responsibilities. For instance, if a nurse decides to specialize in ambulatory care, he or she will not need to be in a hospital setting as this is an outpatient form of care and includes responding to patients in quick short spans and providing education to the families on how to help to care for the patient and administer prescriptions if any. The care that is needed for these patients can range from wellness, illness prevention and support for the terminally ill.
