Gently washing your face is the way to go. Do not scrub your face! Acne has an easier time settling into a face that has recently been scrubbed! Yes your face might feel extra clean right after you finish scrubbing but it won't take long for it to feel painful because the skin on your face is very easily damaged! Giving yourself scrubbing scars can be very embarrassing! You need to have a firm but gentle touch when you wash your face. It sounds difficult but it is very easy to learn. Here is a hint: if you have a bright red face after you finish your skin care routine, your routine is too harsh. A flushed face is okay as long as it is not bright red. You want to have a healthy glow but stop short of looking like a red light bulb. Choose makeup that is easier on your skin, wear less of it or skip it altogether. Buy makeup that has sunscreen in it instead of buying separate products and putting more clogging materials into your pores. There is even healthy makeup now that has been infused with different vitamins and minerals that are good for your skin. Don't base your make up choices on price alone. Wear your makeup lightly. You want to wear very little to no makeup. Don't fret; you can still look amazing without caking layers of stuff onto your face! You should also make sure to take off all of your makeup before you go to bed for the night. Leaving your makeup on while you sleep is one of the best ways to give yourself acne.
Wash your face at least twice a day. Your skin is still vulnerable at night when you are asleep. It is not hard to put together a skin cleansing ritual for the morning and another for the evening. Your evening cleansing routine will be more involved than the routine you do in the mornings because you will be washing away all of the things that have clogged your pores during the day, but at the bare minimum your face should get cleansed each morning. You'll send that acne packing!
There is no rule that says acne combat needs to be expensive or extremely complicated. The best way to stay acne free is to simply keep your face clean. Don't forget that the skin on your face is sensitive to so be gentle! A thorough cleansing is possible without having to resort to heavy scrubbing!
