The words close combat training can be intimidating to the average person. And that is certainly understandable. You could be forgiven for thinking that you probably don't have any need to learn how to defend yourself in combat. But it is important to look beyond the words to understand just how beneficial this type of training can be for the average person. Many people might instantly picture two large muscle-bound men scrapping in a wrestling ring when they think of close combat training. Although that may be the end goal for some people, the vast majority of people implore this type of training in order to gain a better understanding of self defense strategies that can be used in everyday life.

You just simply never know when a situation could arise that will warrant you having to use self defense. We unfortunately live in a very violent world and criminals are lurking around every corner. They prey on the weak, the strong, men, women, children and everyone in between. Criminals have no sense of compassion and will take any advantage they have to win the fight and get your wallet, your car, or whatever else they want. And if you aren't prepared to defend yourself, your family and your property, they will win. That is the one thing that angers Captain Chris more than anything. He and his wife were the victims of violent crime many years ago and he has since dedicated his life to teaching other people how to properly defend themselves.

Captain Chris nearly lost his life to violent criminals in a case of mistaken identity. Knife wielding thugs attempted to gain control of his car while he and his wife were inside. If the police hadn't intervened, they both might have been dead. And since that day, Chris spent the next few years travelling the world trying to find the best solution for self defense. And that solution was close combat training.

This type of training involves many different aspects of different styles of mixed martial arts and combines them into a technique that can be used by anyone in any situation of violent crime. And one of the greatest aspects of it is that it can be learned and utilized by absolutely anyone. No matter how big or small you are or how strong you are, you can learn the intricacies of close combat training and know that you can defend yourself if the need arises.

Many people don't have the time to attend a nightly or weekly self defense course, which is something that Captain Chris understands. That is why he has created a series of DVD's that serve to teach everyone how to defend themselves from the comfort of their own home. This allows you to learn at your own pace and around your own schedule. We live in hectic times, so it's not always easy to find the time. But if you are looking to learn how to defend yourself, close combat training is the first and last stop.
