Much trekking is done in this gorgeous and lush spot. Trekking involves traveling over long distances on foot and benefitting from nature in all its forms. El Gaital Peak, set 3,000 meters above sea level, is another great location to visit. Its broad collection of animals and plants within 335 hectares of protected territory make it a unique destination within The Valley. It is also home to The National Wildlife Authority's (ANAM) headquarters.
One of the most mystifying locations in the entire Anton Valley is La India Dormida. You'll find La India Dormida where the hills of The Valley outline the figure of a young Indian woman that, according to local stories, fell wildly in love with a visiting Spaniard and wept over her great misfortune until the very Earth took her as its own. Other stories suggest that the Sun turned her into part of the hill to save her from a love that was not returned by a cocky Indian fighter of her tribe.
