subject: Start Medical Transcriptionist Training Immediately [print this page] Life never ceases to amaze meLife never ceases to amaze me. It is shocking how you can have your entire future mapped out then in the blink of an eye you are somewhere you never planned or dreamed you would be. I was a happily married, full time homeschooling mother to two brilliant babies. Then I woke up one day to discover my husband had decided this wasn't the life he wanted. So, uprooted my little dynamic duo was suddenly out of the comfort of everything we ever knew and thrown into a world that was entirely unfamiliar. Suddenly mommy, who had always been there and readily available needed to work, and fast. So I went back to the only industry I've ever known, food service. Managing a restaurant I'd worked for off and on for 10 years I was back in my element, but immediately remembered why I left in the first place. Crazy hours, physically exhausting, not really a chance to use my brain or other skills that I possess, (like typing 90wpm).
Frustrated I began looking online medical transcription courses since I knew time wouldn't allow me to work and go to the community college down the road. I was intrigued by medical transcriptionist training immediately. Right off the bat was excited by the qualifications needed that I felt I possessed. Researching, (into the wee hours of several mornings for several weeks) I came to the conclusion this was a path definitely for me. Even if I decide to spend a couple of years in the industry at an office, I'm encouraged that it will be an 8-5 job, like NORMAL people out there, and allow me to eventually meet my goal, staying at home to raise my children, continue to home school, and be completely independent. Knowing that if I ever need to move or WANT to move, I have a career that will follow me. Also aware that the baby boomers are ageing, (my parents fall into this category) there will certainly not be a shortage of work anytime soon. SN:0TG9Y2ESY
If I am ever privileged enough to find prince charming and get married, I will be able to contribute a viable income. I was immediately excited about this particular course for numerous reasons but the top two being: affordability and visual aids. I'm a visual learner and the cd rom made me excited. I'm also a question asker, and the thought of working solely out of a textbook then taking tests online frightened me a bit because where would I go if I had questions? No one in my immediate circle of acquaintances would be able to help me. I feel I can go confidently into this course full steam ahead knowing I have the support of professionals to help me each step of the way. My future goals are so simple, and I finally feel that with the right tools and opportunities I will be able to achieve them: children, career, comfortable living, that's MY American dream. I can't wait to continue to pursue it! For more information, visit www.MedTranCareers.com
