subject: Toothbrushes Don't Prevent Tooth Decay [print this page]

Tooth decay is an alarming and severe problem impacting all corners of the globe. Over 90% of the world's citizens suffer from this disease despite the fact that the preventions efforts of the dental industry are more thorough than with any other form of disease.

Modern dentistry is able to hide the woes of cavities and toothaches through modern dental practices. Regular tooth brushing, mouthwashes, and more help keep our cavities from getting out of control.

Tooth decay is not just a cosmetic issue though. It really is a sign of underlying health problems and a prominent sign of severe health issues on the horizon.

This is not some health problem that afflicts all species all over the world. Humans have cavity problems like no other creature does - even though we are the ONLY species with tooth brushes, toothpaste, and dental care. Clearly, it's not all about our reliance on flossing and brushing.

Even more interesting, is that less than a century ago, humans still living off of native dietary staples were found to not only have mouths full of crisp, white, beautiful teeth, but they had every single one of their 32 teeth, including the wisdom teeth which are so commonly jerked out, in perfectly-uniform alignment. Like a chain of pearls. It didn't matter what their genes were or what they ate. What mattered is that theirs diet did not include modern, refined foods.

What's so compelling about these observations is when you compare these people to nearby areas with access to refined foods. Each native group found to have perfect dentition and virtual freedom from dental caries had neighboring tribes living near ports and eating tons of white flour, white sugar, canned foods, and 20th century vegetable oils. How were their chompers? A complete disaster - crooked due to lack of space in the mouth for all 32 teeth and full of decaying teeth. They also had several other illnesses that the natives on their 'primitive' diets never witnessed - everything from constipation to heart disease, diabetes, ulcers, cancer, and tuberculosis.

These groups were compared by dentist Weston A. Price, and his observations were amongst the most profound and prophetic of all observations that have ever been made about human health. Price's work; however, has been forgotten by modern health "experts." Unfortunate, because much of our real understanding of human health stems from his work. Without knowledge of it, who knows what kind of silly conclusions we might come up with. We might end up thinking butter is a harmful food and that margarine and protein shakes will make us healtheir. Wait, what's that, we do think that? Uh oh. Trouble.

Truth is out there, and mainstream dogma is rapidly being toppled with information that really can help us topple the rapid emergence of tooth decay - and the many health problems that often come with it. Seek them out, as I have done, and you too can stop the entire degenerative process, the least of which and simplest to correct being tooth decay.
