There are several beaches that make up Torquay in Torbay. The marina is alive with activities and events throughout the year. There are endless sports activities available to visitors. A person may want to snorkel, scuba dive, take a boat on the sea and sail around the bay. The restaurants are fabulous and there are many Michelin star holders that provide international cuisine. The nightlife includes pubs, clubs, dancing, theatre and much more to visitors.

The Torquay zoo provides an abundance of animals that are maintained in natural habitats. An individual will find that strolling along the paths of the zoo grounds provides a person with parks, gardens, and paths that are unparalleled in their beauty.

The Torquay museum has several exhibits that will delight you. The Agatha Christie museum will bring new meaning to many of the books that she wrote using Torquay for inspiration. You will also find remnants of Roman ruins in and around Torquay.

Promenades that have palm trees lining the way lead to the harbor and marina where you will find cafes and shops that provide you with unique and distinct items from the surrounding area. Activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and golfing all within the city. You can spend time at the pier and relax and fish as you watch the beautiful blue sea ebb and flow.

The annual Agatha Christie Festival is held each September. Participants from all over the world come to share stories and learn about Torquay and the inspiration it had on the writings of Agatha Christie. When walking along Agatha Christie Mile you will find eleven distinct locations used by Lady Christie in her books. Each location is marked by a plaque.

Many of the parks and gardens in Torquay were began in the 1700s' and provide a person the opportunity to stroll among the beautiful flowers and foliage found throughout southern England.
