What's in a name?
What's in a name?

This has been the objective of my-pasand.com since its conception back in 2009 on a cold winter evening. Let me take you back to when we first set about creating an online Muslim matrimonial service for UK based single Muslims. We collectively felt it was important for us to convey strong Islamic values from the offset, after all we're Muslims and we want to provide a service for the better of the British Muslim ummah. With the word choice' being our firm starting block we quickly switched it to the Urdu equivalent of pasand'. Pasand' means choice' not only in Urdu but similar Indian subcontinent languages, married together with the English word my' and we had coined a phrase that instantly portrayed the values of our conception; my-pasand.com', simply my choice'. We now wanted to display a deliberate relationship to the most important factor of any marriage, love. Keen to shy away from the obvious use of love hearts and little cupids we saw inspiration in the word "al Hubb", meaning love in Arabic. Written is Arabic calligraphy and placed above the my-pasand' characters, we had formed our principles and objectives into a logo. As a team dedicated to the cause, the my-pasand.com logo embodies and symbolises the focus of our service and the aim of our entire team to help our Muslim members find love and compatibility Insha'Allah.
