The Paradox of Faith: Steadying the Self in the Space Between Thoughts

To try to shape faith into an objective, logical airtight thing of proof is similar to identifying, removing and dissecting the lung as the source of breath. As soon as the organ leaves the body, this vital source of life, without which the animal cannot live, soon loses its own source and shrivels. One can point to foundations of various religions as the substance, the basis of the things that are believed unseen, the assurance of hopes. Indeed religious foundations are born out of the eternal and universal decree of creation, but they are sustained in the waters of vates, in the sanctified waters of mystery and paradox where they must remain in order to live and feed the human imagination in the heart of the mind. Here it is that beloving occurs and God's mystery breaks forth. Here is is that mustard seeds of faith take root, something is carried out in time by men, history takes place, and lives take shape as uniquely living and breathing confessions of faith, each a new re-proclamation of creation.
