The best accommodation modules will also come complete with various safety features, such as a fire/ gas detection system, sprinkler system, and emergency lighting. These added features will make a crew member's accommodation module feel much more secure, but also make them feel assured that their safety and wellbeing is being considered. Accommodation modules should be spacious, and provide enough room for crew members to set up personal items, perhaps from home, such as pictures or books. They should also feature sockets for television sets, telephones and any other electrical goods which may be required or permitted on board. Accommodation modules may also be linked together, to create a large community of living areas, depending on the space requirements of the vessel or construction, and the personal tastes of those aboard.
