The team once again managed to advance deep into the playoffs. Like 2003, the team managed to go all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in 2007. This Final looked like it would bring more success than the last for the team. They started out the series with 2 victories at home. They did lose the 3rd game of the series, but the team managed to take home the next two. The final game was a 6-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators. This was the first and only championship in the history of the franchise.
