subject: When Installing A Sprinkler System You Will Need To Use Sprinkler Marking Flags [print this page]

If you have plans for installing your own sprinkler system you will discover that with a little patience and advice from the right people you should be able to accomplish this kind of project. You will find that it will make your job a lot easier if you use in your planning Sprinkler Marking Flags. These will make it a lot easier to mark off where your sprinkler heads need to be placed.

Before you can do anything you need to make sure that you check the water pressure and make sure your water pressure is acceptable. You can do this with a water pressure gauge. You do this by finding a hose connection and hook the pressure gauge up to the connection.

The second step to take is make a sketch of your home and property to the best of your ability. Indicate the measurements of where the system is going to be installed, then mark on the sketch where the sprinkler heads will be located.

Go to your home improvement center with sketch in hand so they understand exactly what you are going to need to complete your sprinkler project. You might even be able to get a more professional plan from the home improvement center.

You will need to contact your city before you start doing any kind of actual work to make sure that you do not need any kind of permit to install your system. After you have done that make sure to take the irrigation valve and make sure it is connected to the main shut off valve for your home.

Where you place your sprinkler heads all depends upon how far each sprinkler head sprays out the water. Using that information you can then place your sprinkler marking flags where all of your sprinkler heads are going to be placed.

Now you will dig a trench in your yard that starts at the main valve and then goes to the area where each sprinkler head will be. Now connect the electronic irrigation valves to the main valve of the system. Install all the pipe that will be needed for the amount of sprinkler heads that you have planned out. Cover your trench after you are certain there are no leaks and you finished.

The last thing you want to do is to set the clock that comes with the irrigation system. Follow the instructions closely and it should be pretty easy. Turn on all the valves by hand to make sure they are all working properly and you are finished.
