subject: Even More Ways To Sell To People Who Don't Win Your Auction On Ebay [print this page]

The VAST MAJORITY of people who visit your eBay listing either WON'T bid or they bid but DON'T win your auction. But these are all people who are interested in your niche - otherwise they wouldn't have clicked on your listing! So they are ALL potential customers of yours. If they don't buy straight away, you want them to come back to your eBay listings so that they might buy at a later date.

Consider asking for feedback in your eBay listing. Ask them to email you with the reason why they decided not to buy in return for a FREE gift such as an ebook that is relevant to your niche. This could be the same ebook that you are giving as a free bonus to encourage people to buy your product.

Use this feedback to improve your terms and conditions (or whatever the reason is that they didn't buy). You now have their contact details. Once you rectify the reason that they didn't buy, you can tell them and they may then buy from you!

Most successful marketers understand that the true value of their business lies in the list of customers and potential customers that they have built - so that they can sell direct to the people on this list over and over again.

So it doesn't matter if someone visits your listing and doesn't buy there and then - if you get their contact information added to your list instead. In fact a few "savvy" eBay sellers list items with the sole intention of collecting visitor's contact details - they don't care if they actually sell the item that they've listed or not!

If you have different items for sale on eBay, make sure that people looking at one of your listing know about the others. They may not buy the item advertised in your listing that they are looking at but they may look at your other listings and buy one of your other items.

This is why it is important to operate in a niche. If everything you sell is relevant and of interest to your target market, they will potentially want everything that you sell. They can see all your listings in your eBay store so put a link to your store in your listing and say "Click here to see the other (insert name of your niche) bargains we have available".

If you have a store, eBay allows you to show other items that you have for sale in your listing. Or you can use Vendio Gallery to put a moving gallery of all your other listings in your listing and on your About Me page. You can get it FREE from Vendio's website.
