Stuttering is a speech disorder in which the person suffering from it experiences a disrupted flow of speech that is highlighted by involuntary repetitions and prolongations of words, phrases, sounds, or syllables. The biggest reason behind stuttering is social anxiety or fear of stammering. It is important to note that a big majority of people do not stammer when reciting a song, talking to pets, young children, talking to themselves, or whispering. You will be surprised to read that some of the famous people who stuttered were Arnold Bennett, Robert Boyle, Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin, King George VI, Thomas Jefferson, Napoleon the First, Isaac Newton, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington, Steven Hawking, Bruce Willis, Walt Disney, and Marilyn Monroe to name a few. Despite their inability, they made great efforts to make a name for themselves. One thing that separated them from others was their ability to conquer fear and deriving inspiration from deep within and this is one thing you need to develop. If you or any one near you stammers, it is important for you to realize that you are not alone in this world and your stammering does not put you behind others. People near you must listen to what is said and not how it is said. However, it is important for you to ignore laughs of people who are not good enough to be a part of your life. Try maintaining eye contact and do not be shy to admit the fact that you stammer. Do not try to say all the words you have at one go, express yourself slowly. Do not think that any particular word brings stammering in you; meditate for around half an hour in the day. For better results, make it a habit to meditate in the early morning and be confident. Present yourself with a gift when you make a good speech and never underestimate your talents just because you stammer. Spend some quality time with yourself and conquer all your fears, life is to be lived once and you need to live it happily. Do not just blame destiny, try correcting this problem yourself but do not fall victim to luring and non-effective options that claim to get it all right in a few weeks. Stuttering treatment takes time and you must have patience to see your dream of fluent speech getting fulfilled. Its just the beginning that is needed and you need to do that NOW!About the Author:
