However, it is the upcoming Nissan Micra that has everyone sitting on the edge of their seats. The Nissan Micra is being expected with a price tag of Rs 4-5 lakh to be launched around June. The Nissan Micra would be manufactured in Thailand, India, Brazil and probably Mexico and will also be made available in more than 150 countries. Nissan Micra would be followed by the launch of nine models in the next two years, including the sedan version of its latest compact car Nissan Micra, a mini-MPV in 2012.
Nissan Micra would come in six variants with both manual and automatic transmission options in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant is expected to come in two different capacities. The petrol variants with a 1.2L, 1240cc petrol engine will provide a 13.5kmpl mileage in the city and 18.6kmpl mileage on highways. The other petrol variant would give a 12kmpl mileage in the city and 16.5kmpl mileage on highways. While the 1.5L, 1461cc CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine variant will provide around 16.2kmpl mileage in city and 20.7kmpl mileage on highway.
Some of the features that Nissan Micra would have are going to be unique to this class of cars. Nissan Micra will come equipped with stylish designed dual tone interiors with dual tone dashboard and advanced instrument panel, dual front airbags, ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), anti-skid system and many more advanced safety features. Nissan Micra would also have dashing headlamps and fog lamps placed next to the front grille, body coloured bumpers, body-coloured door mirrors, alloy wheels, silver finish door handles and tinted front headlamps covers, etc.
