subject: Green Cleaning Services And Other Green Efforts For The World [print this page] Doing your bit for the environment is the start of going green, a global movement whose main objective is to save the earth by harming it as less as possible. Going green is booming. Twenty years ago, most green advocates were regarded as extremists and gung ho about saving the world without giving a damn. But through constant dialogue, the tides did turn. The point of most conservationists that we have to protect our resources because they are limited began to hit home. More research into the effects of how man did so much harm to the world came out and as the general population began to clamor for reforms in our manufacturing processes, the companies saw the light, listened and began to adopt. These days' corporations even use green clean services to maintain their offices ensuring that non toxic substances that are harmful to the ozone layer are used in the cleaning of their very workplace. It is after all common sense as one wouldn't want to breathe poisonous substances in their surroundings. And though some people still question the motives for such multi national companies going greener, the fact that they are doing so is good enough for now.
How have big companies responded?
- Oil companies are now looking for sustainable energy alternatives than oil. More and more research is being done by these companies into solar, hydro and wind energy as an alternative to petroleum. These companies have begun allocating their financial resources into seriously finding alternative and renewable energy, knowing that indeed, oil is finite. By doing so, these companies have opened up avenues for environmental engineers to pursue their passion. They have also started to look at their manufacturing process and place safeguards against accidents in oil rigs and tankers which will have disastrous effects to the environment should one ever happen.
- Companies have adopted recycling into their manufacturing and product packaging. More and more companies have begun using recycled paper as part of their pitch in going green. With this endeavour being done, research is concurrently being done on how to make other items like plastic re-useable. There is also an effort for more companies to add incentives to recycling their plastic packaging. And in the supermarkets, the use of cloth bags for groceries is being encouraged to lessen the use of brown paper bags. In turn, all countries these days try to sort and store the various types of disposables to its proper bins so most of them can be recycled again.
