Twisting your hair is a sign that you have developed a hard -to-kick habit. Now the time has arrived when you need some tips to help you stop twisting your hair.Usually hair twisting happens when you are day-dreaming or worrying. You may not even know that you are engaging in this activity. Probably your mind may is wandering off, far from your present location.

This is often a learned habit. Maybe someone in your family does it where you can see him. You may have been watching this activity all your life. That makes it all the more difficult to stop.

The people best suited to help you quash this habit are the ones closest to you. Just ask them to let you know when you are engaging in a twisting session. This will help you be more conscious of the extent of the problem. It will stop you in your tracks and remind you of your decision to control this urge.

But once you have been told to stop it-- how do you? Easy! Get your hands busy. Get them doing something that won't allow you to twist your coiffure. There are many things you can do to keep those hands out of your hair.

There are two schools of thought on activities to be used by the hair-twist-aholic. One group swears that you must get your hands into cleaning solutions, paint or cookie dough to prevent the twisting. The other group prefers to remain seated, if possible.

Knitting, sewing, drawing, using the computer or grooming your pet are all good activities to consider. There is a big advantage to any activity that you do with your hands if it stops you from yanking on your tresses.

Any activity involving your hands will help you kick this habit. Just find what suits you best and do it in your free time. You will find those fingers will forget all about your hair!

Are you are serious about trying to stop twisting your hair? Really serious? Committed enough to actually do something about it? Why not take up a hobby that you enjoy and that will reduce your ability and inclination to twist your own hair into a tangle?
