A lifestyle coach is someone who will help a client clarify his or her goals and provide the tools for action and learning that lead to the results the client wants. What is the difference between coaching and counseling? Counseling would be used when personal problems are affecting motivation, while coaching would be used when a lack of skill or knowledge is an issue. Coaching can help clients identify issues in a way that will reduce stress and create more balance, which usually means: identifying any other possible options or ways to look at an issue.

One thing that can sometimes prove to be a challenge for people interested in making changes in their lives is not so much determining how many changes to make in one year, or taking the time to write everything down, but finding new ways of looking at the world. Coaching offers the assistance needed for making changes in their lives. Coaching helps clients assess performance, define achievable goals, and explore new initiatives.

Coaching addresses the whole person with an emphasis on producing action and uncovering learning that can lead to more fulfillment, more balance, and a more effective process for living.

Coaching usually helps clients see the circumstances of their lives, decide what is important, and move from this new perspective to choice.

In todays world of high-speed chaos, stress, and increasing demands, balance is something for which many people strive. While striking a balance can only occur by slowing down ones hectic life, its important to realize that balance is not static, it is dynamic and always in motion. An important role, therefore, of a lifestyle coach is to help clients celebrate victories, learn from setbacks, and help the client to assess where to go from here.
