For performance testing a safe work load is stated and the equipment is used up to this level to see how it performs according to the producers specifications. In static testing the load more than the safe work load is applied but not up to the fullest level. In dynamic testing the load is not only more than the safe work load but it is applied to the fullest level to check its performance.
Software load testing:
It is the process of testing the usage of a software program when multiple users access it at the same time. This testing is most appropriate for multi-user systems such as web servers. However it can also be used for testing other software systems as well. Correct load testing depends on actual results rather than theoretical.
