This method of killing the bugs has not worked for everyone. Along with varying degrees of success, this method often leaves the mattress smelly for a long time.

Drug stores often sell a type of pesticide that works on household pests, such as bed bugs. These formulas and sprays are often cheaper than calling an exterminator. Because these are chemicals, there are some side effects, though. These chemicals can irritate the skin and cause allergic reactions, so they should be handled with care.

A last resort to be used is to call an exterminator. These people will come and most likely fumigate your house if the problem is bad enough. Exterminators can be very expensive and can leave you without a home for weeks. They should only be used as a last resort.

It does not matter how small or large your problem is there will be a solution for you. There are many over the counter ways to killing these bugs. Knowing how to kill bed bugs is very important if they happen to infest your mattress.
