subject: The Right Printing Method May Just Land You A Client [print this page]

Printing may not have the place in the business world that it used to, but make no mistake, it is still a vital part of any business. Because so much business is conducted over the Internet, it is more important than ever to make sure that printed documents stand out and look professional. Knowing the various printing methods available will go a long way toward making the right choice.

Offset printing - when looking for a high-end document, there may be no better method of printing available. The finished product will cost a bit more and take a few extra days to get, but the impression that it leaves will definitely be worth it. This process entails the creation of four separate plates, one each in black, yellow, magenta, and cyan, and then the transference of the image from the colored plates to the paper. Expect to wait a week to ten days for the finished product.

Digital printing - this is still a high quality of printing, but will cost a little less and will not take quite as long as offset printing. This is commonly used for jobs under 1,000 prints in total and offers the convenience of being able to personalize each item. The process is quite similar to offset printing, but plates do not have to be created in order for the images to be transferred.

Color printing - this is the lowest tier of the three methods, but one of the more widely used for everyday documents. Jobs that use this method can be turned around in as little as a day and the method is also perfect for mass printing. While it is considered to be the lowest level of quality, do not make the mistake and think that the documents will not be presentable. They will still look incredible, it is just that it should not be used for printing certain types of business documents.

Even with the Internet, printed documents remain an important part of the business world. We will always need to provide pamphlets, flyers, and other documents for our customers to take. In addition, there are certain business contacts that will demand that their presentation is created as a document that they can hold versus an on-screen presentation. When that time comes, choose the printing methods that can serve you best.
