subject: Close calls for a new Burnley manager [print this page] Author: Ben Carso Author: Ben Carso
Burnley football club, the Premiership team are still to shed any light on their new manager. They have been searching since Owen Coyle, the ex Burnley manager left to be in charge at the club he used to play for, Bolton Wanderers FC. Whilst there remains favourites for the post, BUrnley will be looking to fill the post with someone experienced enough to keep them clear of the relegation zone where they remain perilously close to at the current time. Burnely made a fantastic start to the season even notching up a win against Manchester United. Now it seems, would not have been the right time to lose the manager who so successfully steered them to Premiership status and Burnley will be waiting for the right candidate before forcefully making a decision. There is currently a list of potential new managers that can be seen at the majority of the best bookmakers and some of the names do seem very rediculous. Even Gary Neville is highlighted as a possible new manager of the club with odds at 40-1 and it would be more of a surprise to see someone back that choice than actually see Neville walking through the doors at Turf Moor. The current favourites selected are those of Sean O'Driscoll at 8/11 and Brian Laws at evens, other possibilities include Paul Ince at 10/1 and Gareth Southgate at 33/1. Regardless of who is chosen, Burnley fans will hope that the new manager can carry on where Owen Coyle left off with some valuable points being picked up away as well as home.About the Author:
