"Super comfort" is one of the themes from "The Seven Obsessions of Italian Design", presented for the first time in Milan in 2007 and revived in Matera from the Triennale Design Museum.
Through a selection of iconic pieces in the history of Made in Italy, the exhibition identifies one of the "obsessions of Italian design", namely what are the texture, shapes and materials capable of evoking the psychological comfort, the cosy chair of the works on display Lots of Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro, the Superonda of Archizoom or Blow Jonathan De Pas.
In "uncomfortable idleness" instead are exposed eight prototypes of experimental design, designed and constructed by four working groups created in the laboratory Mim between Matera and Milan. The project involved 45 young people between designers, artisans, professionals and entrepreneurs in the district of upholstered furniture and 45 students of the Faculty of Design of Politecnico di Milano present in Matera.
The initiative stems from the interaction generated by the Project Design MIM (Mobile Sofas Matera) promoted by the Region of Basilicata.
