In this article we are going to being using Google Analytics to set up a goal. This is going to help us track conversions for visitors who take certain behaviors. So this will help us dictate if someone fills out a form or if someone clicks a link which would be a completion of the goal.

We can then track those rates and see if any changes that we make effects our website, if it makes actions better or worse and this will help us know and improve our website in order for it to work at the best possible quality it can.

So the first thing you want to do is to sign into your Google Analytics account and view your dashboard. On the left menu click on the Goals link, and click the setup Goals and Funnels link. The Goals and Funnels link will then take you to the goals settings page, where you can add a new goal.

Google will walk you through how to set up your goals step by step.

It will allow you to name your goal, dictate how many steps are in your goal, and define the details for your goal.

Google also has a help center if you are not quite sure what selections to make.

Once you have submitted your goal to Google Analytics, you can click the Goals link on the left menu to view statistics for a specific goal you have set up.

Google will also provide you with information on Total Conversions, Conversion rates and allows you to set up a goal values.
