subject: How To Motivate Others Via Maslow's Theory [print this page]

The key to how to motivate others is for you to understand the origins of Motivation and that is through Maslow's Theory or his Hierarchy of Needs. For starters, you should get out of the "follow you" around stage and begin with the "follow me for a new way of life" kind of thing.

Top 3 needs to feel motivated:

1)Physiological Needs - Maslow Way

This level speaks about your basic necessities in life - your need to eat, drink, work, sleep and reproduce. Once you understand their importance in your life, you can now share or contribute your learning to others that before you can teach how to motivate others; you have to feel motivated first. It actually is all about releasing an inner glow, an inner satisfaction that other people would eventually see and feel.

2)Safety Needs

How to motivate others that they too can experience a well-rounded life is when you would understand the need for shelter and security. Without this, you would not be able to share your thoughts that they too can be motivated more with work or with practically anything if they have something they can lean on.

3)Belonging Needs

Acceptance and being part of a group mainly suggests that no man is an island. Yes there are times when you could do well by being self-reliant but if you choose to be on your own most of the time, the need to feel motivated has its limitations. You still need external support.
