subject: Tips On How To Make Your First Sale On The Internet [print this page]

A business does not officially become a business until the first sale has been created. Any businessman would know that the first is always the most difficult since you are only starting out and barely anybody knows you. Well, to earn profit from what you have put up you need customers first and then convince them to return to you for more business in the future. Experts have dished out some very important tips on just how to do that.

Build a list of your contacts. List down every family or friend's name you have and include their contact information. They are probably the kind of people who would want to support you in your business and would want to avail of your products or services.

Create an effective sales pitch. Send out an email to all your contacts and pitch to them what you have to offer and the price that comes with it. Also enumerate the benefits that they will gain from buying your products. You can end your letter by implying politely that you will be making a follow up in the following days to delve deeper into their interests with the prospect you are offering.

Call your contacts. After a few days, give your prospective clients a call. Make a background research of every person in your list in case some very important change has just happened to them. They might have just made a career change or have been invited to do a speech about their businesses. This way, you will not be left clueless and you know exactly where the conversation should be headed. Being informed will also help you build up your confidence.

Make the call again. If you were unable to contact your prospective clients, don't hesitate to call them again. But make sure you left a message letting them know that you would. Your contact may have other things on their minds and other priorities to attend to. You should not let this deter you from your purpose. Your perseverance might just pay off in the end.

Spread the word. Once you're able to make your first sale, talk about it in your website or anywhere that matters. Of course, the polite way to do this is to ask permission from your buyer first. You can even post your client's testimonial in your blog or website. Now, you are ready to do some more business.
