Gray Maynard, after eight straight wins in the UFC, undefeated lightweight contender will finally get his shot at the title in a rematch with current champion Frankie Edgar. While their first encounter wasn't exactly a barnburner, UFC president Dana White says he has no concerns over the challenge of making the fight a financial success. "I said if Gray beats Kenny, Gray gets his shot," White said. "He absolutely beat Kenny." Maynard handed Edgar the lone loss of his career in an April 2008 contest, but "The Bully" was passed over for a shot at Penn in April in favor of "The Answer" despite the head-to-head result. White said he couldn't possibly pass over the Xtreme Couture fighter a second time, and he's interested to see how he fighters stack up two-and-a-half years later. Maynard claimed all three rounds of a strategically fought contest with Florian to secure his seventh-straight win via decision. Meanwhile, Edgar was impressive in a five-round shutout of the legendary Penn, but he's also gone the distance in six of his eight career octagon wins. Maynard said he's looking forward to replicating the results of the first matchup and believes he still has the tools to beat Edgar despite the champion's evolution since their original encounter. "It's a nice belt to have, and I want it for sure," Maynard said. "Everybody's beatable."
